Iran is located in one of the most violent places in the middle east. It is a medium sized country that sits in between Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Turkey. It is a very important country because it acts as a bridge between the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf. Because of it's location in the middle east, Iran has a vast quantity of oil; many nations are currently fighting to acquire some of Iran's valuable natural resources. Though most of the fighting in the middle east has been in Iraq and Afghanistan, Iran is still struggling with terrorist groups and local militias. Iran is currently in the hot seat with many western countries because of Iran's hate for the United States; however this hate isn't for no reason. For years the United States has been trying to force western influence down Iran's throat.

Israel and Iran used to be close allies, but ever since the islamic revolution in Iran, led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the Iranian-Israely relations have disintegrated. Iran has severed all commercial ties with Israel and does not recognize them as a country. Iran refers to Israel as "occupied Territories" and a "Zionist regime".
